Conflict of Interest Statements and Policies
Information for non-profits, presented by APNQ as a service to our fellow nonprofit organizations
Starting with 2005 federal tax returns, there is now a question asking if the organization has a written Conflict of Interest Policy (signed by board members and management employees). This requirement came about as a result of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act which was passed in response to the accounting scandals at companies such as Enron, etc. Although this Act mainly impacted publicly traded companies, there was also an impact on non-profits.
Here are 3 downloadable forms that your organization can use for your own records to comply with this act.
The Word files can be saved and edited to include your organization's information. The PDF is available for viewing the document before downloading.
