Forty nine APNQ members from all over the region were invited to create, in fabric, their interpretation of Living Colour. Their creations have become APNQ's seventh invitational traveling exhibit, and will debut at Quiltfest 2008. The spelling "Colour" was selected in honor of the many quilters in Canada.
APNQ's traveling exhibits serve as both fundraisers for the organization and a realization of our mission--to promote the art of quiltmaking in our region and beyond. Since their inception in 1996, these inspired collections have traveled the country and, through the generosity of the quiltmakers who donated their works, have earned more than $105,000 at auction to help support APNQ.
The curators for the Living Colour collection are Carolyn Tobin and Teri Bever. Teri is arranging the itinerary for the exhibit to travel the country where it will appear at major shows and museums. The exhibit will return to Seattle for Quiltfest 2010, to be auctioned to benefit APNQ.
