Artist Statement
Achieving colour on the fabric makes me as happy as making the fabric into
a quilt.
Having the 'blues' makes life wonderful.
Techniques & Materials
Cotton, silk fabrics dyed with indigo and arbutus bark. The lovely chocolate
brown is arbutus dyed and all the rest of the colours come from indigo. The
fabrics were either resisted in some way or simply wrapped around the plant
material. The colour that appears on the fabric is a gift. The threads are
silk, cotton, linen, and floss. Most of them I dyed with indigo and marigold.
