Artist Statement
A stroke of green, vibrant new life in the awakening landscape - Spring's
First Shoot.
Techniques & Materials
Spring's First Shoot (title) began with hand dyed yardage created by Elin
Noble - www.elinnoble.com. I loved the movement, and variety of colors the
fabric contained and used the log cabin formation of the background to enhance
these further. As a starting point, these blocks represented flowerbeds. My
goal was to create an energetic background that was supportive of the focal
point, one powerful line that captures that moment when the garden comes to
life.
