Gala Auction and Dinner

There were over 300 quilters, fiber artists, and collectors of quilting and fine arts who came together for this event and showed their support of the art of quilting in the Pacific Northwest.

The Gala Dinner & Auction is APNQ's only fundraising event, where many bid on great art and other wonderful items. All proceeds from the event went to benefit APNQ's efforts to support regional quiltmaking. Because APNQ is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, many were eligible for tax deductions on some of what they purchased or donated at the auction. Everyone had fun and did good at the same time!

A fascinating array of "experiences" were donated for both silent and live auctions, as well as many art objects and both quilt- and non-quilt-related treasures. Chief among the items that were auctioned are some 50 quilts from the "Wish You Were Here…" invitational collection that has been traveling the country for the past two years, since its presentation at Quiltfest 2004, and the innovative three-dimensional exhibit, "Unconventional Treasures: A Collection of Boxes and Bowls."
