Gala Dinner & Auction - A Touch of Spice
Saturday, August 9, 2008 at 5:30 pm
We are pleased to present an elegant evening of dining, bidding and fun. Join us for the silent auction, a chance to win the Golden Ticket Raffle, and a live auction of the fiber art quilts from the “Spice of Life” exhibit, pieces from the “It’s a Wrap” collection and other enticing items.
Check back for our online Auction Catalog and additional information about the Gala beginning in Spring 2008.
The Gala Dinner & Auction is APNQ's only fundraising event, so please bring your checkbook or credit card and plan to bid on some great art and other wonderful items. All proceeds from the event go to benefit APNQ's efforts to support regional quiltmaking. Because APNQ is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, you may be eligible for tax deductions on some of what you purchase or donate at the auction. You can have fun and do good at the same time!
Once again, we will have the popular Golden Ticket Raffle, where exactly 100 special raffle tickets will be on sale while the Silent Auction is in progress. The lucky winner of this raffle will be able to select and take home any single item from the entire array of Live Auction offerings before the bidding begins!

It's a Wrap - A Collection of Shawls, Scarves, Stoles
The It’s a Wrap collection demonstrates how quilters, as fiber artists, can reinterpret shawls, scarves, stoles, even ponchos, as unique wearable works of art.
Participants were invited to use a variety of techniques including piecing, appliqué, embroidery, quilting, painting, dyeing, and beading. It’s a Wrap will be displayed at Quiltfest until 2 pm on Saturday August 9, 2008, then auctioned at the Gala that evening. The exhibit will be closed on Sunday. All proceeds will benefit Quiltfest 2010.
It’s a Wrap debuted October 14, 2007 in conjunction with APNQ’s Annual Meeting.
Board member Susan Purney Mark is coordinator for the creation and exhibition of this collection.
