Take Me Home -- Support future Quiltfest Special Exhibits
Show attendees have told us that the Special Exhibits, often brought in from other parts of the world, are a highlight of each Quiltfest. In the past, such exhibits have included quilts from New Zealand and Wales. For Quiltfest 2008, there will be a record number of special exhibits: five! They are: Canadian Expressions by FAN, Quilts: Spanning Two Centuries, The Currency Exchange, A South African Spirit and Transatlantic Quilt Challenge II.
But bringing these exhibits to you is expensive. Each requires money for fees, insurance and transportation. Therefore we asked for help, in the form of donations of small quilts that will be displayed--and sold--at the show in a very special, very fun exhibit called Take Me Home. Funds from the sale of these donated quilts will be used to ensure we can continue to provide informative, exciting and inspirational exhibits at future Quiltfests for you to enjoy.
All quilts in the Take Me Home exhibit will be sold during the three days of the show, right off the wall or in a daily Silent Auction. The exhibit will be a rotating display, with sold quilts immediately replaced with others. Prices will be affordable, so we are sure these donated quilts will quickly find homes with excited purchasers!
Here is just a small sampling of the quilts that have already been donated, to be taken home. (Click on any of the quilt photos to see a larger view.)
If you would like to help APNQ and Quiltfest in this fundraising effort, there is still time for you to donate a quilt--or more than one! Take Me Home quilts can be any size or shape from 8” x 10” up to a 20” x 20” maximum.
Thank you so much to those who participated in this exciting new exhibit and for helping us to bring you even better Quiltfests!
