It's a Wrap -- A Collection of Shawls, Scarves, Stoles
The parameter established for It’s a Wrap was to demonstrate how quilters, as fiber artists, can reinterpret shawls, scarves, stoles, even ponchos, as unique wearable works of art. Participants were invited to use a variety of techniques including piecing, appliqué, embroidery, quilting, painting, dyeing, and beading.
It’s a Wrap had its debut at APNQ’s Annual Meeting on October 14, 2007. The curator for the It’s a Wrap collection is Susan Purney Mark. Susan is arranging the itinerary for the exhibit to travel the country, where it will be appearing at major quilting events.
They collection will return to Seattle for Quiltfest 2008, where it will be displayed until 2 pm on Saturday, then auctioned at the Gala. The exhibit will be closed on Sunday. All proceeds will benefit Quiltfest 2010. For information about booking this exhibit, contact info@apnq.org or "It’s a Wrap," APNQ, PO Box 924, Bellevue WA 98009-0924.
